While scrolling through photos in Bridge after a football game, one of our photographers noticed that clicking between a few of them really quickly made a certain drum major look like she was dancing. That inspired us to make GIFs– something I had dabbled in when I learned basic animation for an infographic that ended up not being published.
Using myself as an example, the photo editor and I took a burst of images of me unfolding a reflector, something that’s sort of an inside joke between the photo staff and myself.
I showed our photo editor how to make GIFs with this particular example, and she went on to encourage our photo staff to do the same. Overall, it was a fun way to connect to the photo staff that improved our Photoshop capabilities as a whole.
