Ad Sizing and Prices

This summer, I re-did our advertisement sizes and prices to increase efficiency and revenue while still remaining affordable to advertisers. We didn’t have an ad manager this summer, so I acted as one until Chase, the current ad manager, joined staff. Below is the advertising contract and the chart that we show to potential advertisers so that they can visualize what an ad will look like on a page.

Note that the sizes- 1/8 page, 1/4 page, etc.- are for broadsheet, not tabloid. We switched to tabloid at the beginning of the school year but decided to not increase ad sizes. With only eight pages, selling a full tabloid page would cut our content too much and simply wouldn’t be worth it, despite the profit. The sizes reference half of one tabloid page, or a tabloid page when folded.
